Bleaching Methods
It’s no secret that
most of us wish we had a brighter smile! That’s why we see so
many products on the market today that advertise tooth
whitening. With so many different choices available, it’s so
easy to get overwhelmed with what options to pick. Each product
may make your teeth whiter, but some may take more time to
achieve the desired result, while others may not be as
effective. Some of the most well-known and popular methods of
tooth whitening are:
·
Home Bleaching
(with custom trays):
This involves getting plastic molds of your teeth and a kit to
take home. It takes 2 hours a day for 2-4 weeks to have the
desired result.
·
In-office or Zoom
Bleaching: In-office is
a process performed by a dentist. It takes approximately 1.5
hours with results seen immediately after treatments.
·
Crest Whitening
Strips: Crest strips
are one of the most popular and inexpensive treatments available
today. They must be worn twice a day for 30 minutes each,
visible results are frequently seen after 3-4 weeks. Due to the
limited length, only the six front teeth are affected.
Each method of tooth whitening has
its pros and cons. If you would like more details, please feel

Why and when
should my child have Dental Sealants?
Tooth decay affects
90% of all children by the time they are 14. When plaque ( a
sticky film of bacteria) hardens on the teeth, it becomes tartar
and begins to feed on sugars found in foods, producing harmful
acids that attack teeth. Dentists use preventive treatments
such as Dental Sealants to ward off tooth decay. Dental
Sealants is a clear plastic coating that is brushed onto the
pits and fissures ( chewing surface ) of the molars to protect
them. It is recommended that children who have their permanent
molars should receive sealants. The process takes approximately
fifteen minutes, lasts for several years and aids in the
prevention of cavities.
